Hello! I’m sharing some English phrases to use for my Japanese listeners while traveling!

皆さん、こんにちは！Sayuriです。
今日は、５分で聴けるトラベル英語フレーズ第二弾です。

ちょっとしたリクエストがある時、
英語で伝えるのが面倒だから、まっ、いっか、これくらい我慢しよう！になりがちですが、シンプルだけれども、少しスマートに英語で聞いてみると意外とスムーズに問題が解決することもあります。フレキシブルに対応してもらえると快適な旅になりますよね。

#3 Hotel/accommodation
ホテルや宿泊施設にて

- ＜ハウスキーピング＞　何らかの事情で午前に清掃をしてもらえなかった時
  “I couldn’t get the housekeeping this morning. Would you be able to give us a quick one this evening?”
  （今朝、お部屋を掃除してもらえなかったのですが、夕方にしてもらうことはできますか？）

- ＜深夜のお願い事＞　深夜に何か必要なものがある時
  “I’m afraid to ask you this late, but I was just wondering if you could bring some new towels for me? It’s Room1014.
  （夜遅く申し訳ありませんが、何枚か新しいタオルを持ってきていただくことはできますか？1014号室です。）

- ＜早朝や深夜のチェックアウト＞
  “I will have to check out in the middle of the night (early morning), because my flight leaves very early in the morning. Anyone will be at the reception? If you could arrange the transportation for me as well, that would be great!”
  （フライトが朝早いので、深夜にチェックアウトしなくてはならないのですが、どなたか受付にいらっしゃいますか？また、移動手段の手配をいただけるとありがたいのですが・・・）

- ＜夜の外出＞
  ”Do you think it is safe for me to walk around this area at night?
  （この辺りを、夜歩いても大丈夫ですか？）

- ＜貴重品管理＞
  ”Do you think I can take my valuables to the beach? Is there anywhere I can keep them safely while I’m at the beach?”
  （貴重品を、ビーチに持っていっても大丈夫ですか？ビーチにいる間、安全に保管できるような場所はありますか？）

- ＜ジムの利用方法＞
  “Hi, how could I have access to the sports gym area?”
  スポーツジムには、どのように入ることができますか？

#4 SHopping ショッピング

- ＜クレジット決済＞
  ”Do you take (accept) ‘Visa/Master/JCB/American Express card’ here?”
  （こちらでは、〇〇のクレジットカードは、使えますか？）

- ＜現金とクレジット＞
  “Could I pay $100 by(with) cash and the rest with the credit card, because I’m leaving tomorrow?”
  （明日、帰国するので、１００ドルを現金で、残りをクレジットで支払ってもいいですか？）

- ＜キッズメニュー＞
  “I don’t think I can finish them all. Could I actually order from the Kids Menu?”
  （全部食べられそうにないのですが、キッズメニューをオーダーすることはできますか？）
