Dr. Martin Seligman Q&A
Hi everyone, and thank you for tuning in!
I’m excited to share some reflections from the recent International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA) World Congress — a truly inspiring gathering of researchers, educators, and practitioners from all over the world.
Thanks to a surprising connection between the IPPA president, Dr. Roy Baumeister (a world-renowned social psychologist), and my alma mater, The University of Queensland, I had the privilege of joining this event.
One of the most powerful moments was hearing from the father of Positive Psychology himself, Dr. Martin Seligman, who shared his bold and hopeful vision: to see 51% of the world’s population flourishing by the year 2051. He also addressed the evolving role of AI as a powerful tool for education, and shared his honest thoughts on global conflict and how positive psychology can help us make sense of it all.
✔️ How do you see AI in the midst of mixed opinions? ✔️ How can we understand the ongoing conflicts and wars in the world through the lens of positive psychology? ✔️ What’s your vision moving forward?

AIと教育の未来
①“AI is a huge asset to humanity.” ②“One thing AI can help us do is focus on good character, rather than trying to be the smartest kid in the class — because machines are already the smartest.”
